Description:	Camp Kesem North Carolina is dedicated to serving children in families from the state of North Carolina coping with cancer. CKNC is a free, one week summer camp that focuses on fun, and giving our campers a week to simply be kids again. Campers range from 6-16 years old, and they join over counselors recruited from Duke and UNC for the week of camp at the Keyauwee Program Center in Sophia, NC. In 2009, CKNC's seventh year of camp will be from August 10-16, with counselor orientation taking place on August 8-9. Throughout the year, volunteer student leaders from Duke and UNC work together to fundraise, recruit campers, recruit counselors and plan for the next CKNC.
