Creating websites for student organizations

    • Your organization must be recognized by Duke Student Government (DSG), the Graduate and Professional Student Council (GPSC), or sponsored by an official Duke office or department (including the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life and Residence Life and Housing Services) in order to set up a website for your group.
    • To request a website, submit an OIT Help Desk Request with the following information:
      • The name of your organization and its recognizing/sponsoring body
      • Two proposed Web page/listserv names--your first and second choices.  The proposed names should contain one word in lower case, which will become part of the URL.  For example, the Duke Orchestra's URL is: www.duke.edu/web/orchestra/.
      • The  purpose of the proposed page/listserv: academic, research, professional, campus-oriented, recreational, etc.
      • Description of your organization
      • The full name and NetID of your organization's advisor and the organization member who will be responsible for maintaining the website/listserv.  If necessary, you can list more than one member.
      • In the subject line, please put WEBSITE REQUEST
