Distinguished Leaders in Action
The Distinguished Leaders in Action program provides undergraduate students an opportunity to discuss ideals and tenets of leadership with some of Duke’s most inspirational leaders. Distinguished Leaders in Action featured guests are selected based upon nomination by current student organization leaders. Each Distinguished Leaders in Action discussion is conducted over dinner, creating an atmosphere conducive to relationship-building, learning, and engagement. Participating students are encouraged to ask compelling questions of the featured guests, and to make connections between the esteemed leaders’ words of wisdom and the challenges that they, as student leaders, have faced or will likely encounter in their own roles. By applying newfound knowledge to practice, veterans of the Distinguished Leaders in Action series will be prepared to set ever-increasing standards of leadership as they act for positive and meaningful change at Duke and beyond.
