Notes from the Advisor Program, September 12

The 2006-2007 Student Organization Resource Manual is hot off of the presses. Access it here or pick up a copy in OSAF. Be sure your students have a copy!

Send your students to the new Collaboratory
The Collaboratory features six workstations, equipped with the latest Apple Macintoshes and gorgeous 20" cinema displays, designed to allow groups of students to complete projects, presentations, web sites, and more.  Each computer has the latest academic, productivity and design software, and stations can be moved and reconfigured to let small groups design spaces to best support their needs.

Have a bigger group that you want to get to really work together on a project, but tired of trying to crowd your whole team around one student's laptop or a cramped computer lab seat?  The Collaboratory will also feature Duke's first TeamSpot, a campus meeting space for the 21st century.  With TeamSpot, everyone brings their own laptops and everyone can use them to connect, simultaneously, to a shared computer connected to a big-screen display.  Write, edit, share web sites or documents with the team... together.

The Collaboratoy is located in OSAF, 101 Bryan Center.

Kegs
Student Organizations wishing to have kegs at their events can reserve them through Kathy Wright, Catering Manager for Compass. Her number is 660-3960. Keg forms can be picked up in Dining Services office, 029 West Union. Note that a University fund will cover bartender costs for student events; groups must be able to pay for the kegs.
